What a scenic spot, less than 5 minutes from home. This is the largest salt water inland lake in the Perth Region. Its perimiter is lined with these beautiful salt water tolerant Paperbark trees. Beatiful contrast with the water and sky. I also fired off some Medium Format photos (film) and can't wait to see how they turn out.

Most Northerly sunset of the year
Below
is a photo taken by my good mate, Ian Mathersul. He has been tracking the
sunset over the Western horizon from his Coogee home for many years, and
yesterday the sun reached its most northerly position in the western sky. So,
now days will be getting longer and summer is on it's way back. Yah!
Great
photo Math!

1.6 Degree C morning, house progress and pizza at Bellaroma in Freo...
Had an early start to watch the Socceroos play Chile (lost 3-1), and then out to snap some pre-dawn images before heading home. Then drove down to Baldivis to see the house progress, then netball and finally had a late lunch with Sandri in Freo at Bellaroma...
Woodman Point on Jervois Bay |
Sand, bricks, door-frames...getting there slowly. |
Full 360-degree pano, while I can still snap one (before the walls come up). |
Waiting for the Blue Cat to head into Freo. Awesome summers day too. |
Mmmm! Both were Sandri's :-), hehehe! |
Heading home to watch "The secret life of Walter Mitty". Cool movie by the way... |

The cost of South African fare....12 years since we immigrated...
As far as food and drink in restaurants go, compared to Australian prices, South Africa is still very affordable. If you live and earn there maybe not, but for a Aussie visitor it was a real treat!

Catching up with friends and quiet braai at home
Catching up with Fraser, Lettie and Sandri at the Rose & Crown in Guildford. I can highly recommend the Rose & Crown; great spot near the airport. |
Can you tell Fraser is missing his daughter? Fraser and Lettie shouted us a lovely, low-key dinner and we all had a great time catching up before they flew to RSA. |
...we smuggled in a Peppermint-Crispt tart too...Karin made it yesterday :-) |
A shot of the beer garden area and fire-pit at the Rose & Crown. |
Earlier today, making a fire just to chill-out by. |
Marshmallows....mmm! |
Why does a fire bring such peace? |
How's that for size?! Karla bought these uber-marshmallows at IGA. Wow!!! |
