Aaah, Yeagarup, the famed beach, river and dune fields South of Pemberton. We went down for our first trip, but in the end decided to turn back. I had just had the Ironman Foam-cell pro suspension lift fitted, and after a mishap on a whoop-whoop, started hearing noises (which turned out to be nothing).
Still, it was a great trip, and our first visit to the magical Southern forrests.
This is a headwater stream feeding the Warren River, which eventually washes into the sea at Yeagarup beach. This pristine spot is a minute's walk from the campsite, called Snotty Goble! |
One could see live Yabbies lurking in the tannin-stained water below the fallen trees. |
Snotty Gobble campsite ($11/night). This is before we had a second swag or the awning extension. This is also probably the first photo of Bettie with her suspension lift installed. |
Lake Yeagarup. I was already nervous about "the Gatekeeper" dune, which marks the first, tricky climb onto the dune field leading to Yeagarup, the Warren river and the famous Calcup. |
One of the tallest fire-watch trees down Pemberton way, called the Bicentennial Tree.
The steel lookout structure is 58m above ground level.
