Fremantle Maritime Museum & Port

We spent most of today down in Fremantle at both the port and also the Maritime Museum. Following this we stopped for a quick coffee before heading home to let Eugene take his arfo nap.

The coffee shop also has an art gallery attached to it. This picture shows one of the rooms full of paintings. Very nice, and a lot like Ujazi in Napier!

One of the many, many ships entering and leaving the busy local port. Perhaps our furniture was hidding in there somewhere, haha!

One of several images from inside the Maritime Museum. This one shows a whaling boat and a view into the main display area of the museum.

One of the main attractions is a now retired Australian Navy submarine. Very impressive.

Some of the many yachts on display. At far-right is the yacht that won Australia the America's Cup in the 80's.

A 4 meter long shark suspended in a huge tank full of glycerol. It has just been put on display, so still has no lights inside the tank, so it was quite dark.

Have you ever wondered how a torpedo exits a sub. Wonder no more...

Karla on a rowing machine which gauges your performance against that of an experienced rower.

...I was a little tired after this effort, haha!

Go babes!!!!
