Wokalup Farm Stay - Final 2 days

After a couple of days back home, we went back to the farm to stay the night before the Harvey Ag show. We have been, and continued to be, very fortunate with the weather. Calm and mild evenings, so not too cold, making for good sleeping & rest.

Taking a sunset stroll on a back-road near Harvey.

Waiting for sunset...

The smoky layer near the horizon is from
some preventative burns in the hills near Waroona.

Grilling some Marshmallows in the camp fire.

Wokalup Easter Camp (2 nights, 3 days)

During the Easter break we were invited to stay on the Weimann farm (thanks all), and as usual it was good for the mind, body and soul. If we ever had the opportunity, we would buy such a block in a flash! When you camp out here, drive in the bush and sit under the stars, you just know we were not really built for the city; not South-African or West-Aussies anyway.

Camping and 4WD'ing is huge here in WA, and our community loves it. Can't wait to get back out into the bush...

A warm campfire in the bush; pure bliss.

Heading out...

All-aboard Kenny's bakkie to go fetch some firewood.

Our beautiful daughters ;-)

The camp just before we moved to the fire-pit.

Kenny testing the Axial Deadbolt rock crawler. Cool!
Morache had the controls not long after, haha.

There are several starry-sky photo's below, simply because
they are so visible & beautiful out in the bush.

Brekkie time.

Eugene's driving a car for the first time in his life. Proud that it was in a 4WD and in the bush.
Karla also drove, but being a wild-child, I dare not post those photo's here (speelgat...)

Can you see the Milky Way?

Yep, an inordonate number of photo's of the truck.
Love it; have never bonded with a car like this before :-)

Day 2 - In the bush sawing some fallen trees, fixing the fence line and stocking the shed for the Donkey.

The wood-fired Donkey boiler shower.
This must be the best shower in the world, bar-none.
There is nothing like showering in the cool morning or evening air, with no roof,
while the heat from the boiler keeps the chill at bay. Love, love, love it.

A Wolf Spider, near its nest (left), carrying thousands of baby spiders on his/her back.

An Orb Weaver chilling out during the day. They spin their web at dusk.

The Rock Garden, (which is behind me; see below) where we took Kenny's Axial for a spin.
We then followed with the real thing about 30 minutes later.
Glad to report that the Trailblazer made it up and down with no fuss. Me = Happy.

The Rock Garden.

Eugene sleeping on the drive home. Exhausted, but happy.

Dwellingup Pumpkin Festival & Marrinup Falls

The day started cold, 2 deg.C cold, but got better and better as the day went.

Aaah, lekker in die son.
2 Grade Celcius; brrrrr!

Binnekant die Blue Wren Cafe.

Op die kaffee se stoep met sy double-barrel vuurmaakplek.

'n Regte BOER pampoen ;-)

Die main-manne.

Cable Beach in Dwellingup haha!

Marrinup Falls, with no water flowing. We'll come back in ~2months, once it's rained a bit.
