Karla's drawings

Karla's artistic side has been growing rapidly of late. Her free-hand drawings continue to impress me, and I think you'd all be amazed at how well she is playing classical guitar after only 4 weeks. She can already read music!! Crickey!!! I'll post a video a little later. Below is a foal she drew this morning...heck of a lot better than I could have done at age 10!

Wagin Woolorama & Spiderman

CLICK ON ANY IMAGE TO SEE A LARGER VERSION

Just outside the town of Williams, heading towards Wagin, I took this photo showing
what some of the the paddocks are looking like down that way. Pretty dry.

A closer view, showing that sheep condition is still quite good despite the dry.

An early morning photo of the AWTA-AGRIFOOD-FEEDTEST stand
at Wagin Woolorama. In 2012 we'll be in a larger area with more elaborate displays.

Andrew and Rob discussing some soil and grain testing options with one of
the local growers.

Andrew during his radio interview at Woolorama.

A relaxed moment during which Math & Rob were part of a make-shift band.
Rob won praise, but Math (apparently) needs more practise with the triangle, haha!

Some of the local girls with the bush-utes, some with fuller figures...

While at Woolorama Rob spotted a stall selling Spiderman suits, so I had
to buy one for Eugene. Yes, he is going through the "I am Spiderman" phase.

Statues by the Sea (Cottesloe Beach) and the fish Karin and Eugene caught...

Some of the sculptures on  Cottesloe Beach at sunset. I did not have my tripod,
so it is not the best image.

A rather elaborate sand castle built below the high-tide mark, meaning it would be gone
in less than 6 hours.

The same castle photographed at f/32, with the camera perched on a rock and using the
mirror lock-up function. This is the smallest I can set my 17-85mm lens' aperture, and at
ISO100 it required a 30 second long exposure.

The laughing red baby - another one of the sculptures on display. In this image I
intentionally processed the shadows to be very dark, and also de-saturated
the red levels in the image.

The Fishing Expedition - An Update

Eugene with the very first fish he ever caught all by himself! He was very excited and proud.

Karin with her best effort of the day. I caught nothing, zero, niks!
A last image. Two nights ago Eugene was helping me with the edge trimmer
while I mowed the lawn.

Laugh-out-Loud funny!

Had to share this. Watch the second pair of "victims"!

Pre-fishing : Getting ready to reel in "the big ones" in W.A.

Eugene & Karla with their new 6' Spinning sets. Both have nice little Jarvis Walker reels.
Karla wanted a pink one and Eugene a green one. He could hardly fall asleep for his arvo nap with the excitement and anticipation.
Doing some "practise reeling" in the kitchen...nearly lost some eyes in the process!

Karla with my Okuma kit and also holding Karin's 7' Shimano set, both ex-NZ.
